NEW CHANGES TO THE 2001-2002 MARCHING BAND SCHOOL YEAR (read below)

This Class will undergo the most change for the coming 2001-2002 school year. Marching band will be rehearsing after school begining the first day of school. The change is coming from the possibility of the daily schedule changing at JWHS. With the incorporation of another rotating block in the afternoon, it will be impossible for the bands to meet as a unit during the day. Therefore, it has become  necessary for the scheduling of this class to be moved to after school hours. Marching band is only open to current Concert and Symphonic Wind Ensemble students.  The rehearsals will run Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45 PM to 4:40 PM. On Fridays of home football games, the ensemble will remain at school after school to rehearse prior to the game that night. The students will be released once the band room is clean after the games is over and everything is put away.

During the marching season, the marching band will participate in three marching band festivals, See the schdule for the dates of thses events. Marching band students are required to attend band camp and all rehearsals and performances of the marching band, including the Christmas Parade and the Apple Blossom Parade performances. Any students not honoring his/her commitment to the marching band will be removed from the group at the discretion of the director.
